Commercial Loan Officer Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and developing new commercial loan relationships.

  • Develop new and existing customer relationships through networking, cross-selling opportunities, and referrals to and from business product partners.

  • Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing financial and related data to determine general creditworthiness.

  • Structuring loan terms and conditions that meet the client’s needs.

  • Recommending approval or declination of loans and informing prospective clients of decisions.

  • Managing a commercial loan portfolio for adherence to loan terms and conditions, including but not limited to the timely receipt of required financial information, covenant compliance, and annual reviews.

  • Reviewing documentation to ensure loan documents are prepared in accordance with loan approvals.

  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive referral network to generate new client relationships, targeting more complex businesses.

  • Negotiating terms and making decisions on loans within limits or making recommendations.

  • Representing the company within the community by actively serving in community organizations, participating in local chambers of commerce, and other related leadership activities.

  • Adhering to established loan policies and procedures. Working with commercial credit approval processes to ensure that underwriting and credit quality standards are implemented and maintained.

  • Using professional knowledge, experience, and analytical criteria to make decisions and resolve problems; acting independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

  • May orient, train, assign, and review the work of lower-level team members.

  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Supplemental Pay Type: Commission pay, 1099

Loan Officer Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate mortgage loan applications and manage the loan process from origination to closing in a timely manner
  • Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the loan process
  • Conduct thorough interviews with borrowers to determine their financing needs and eligibility
  • Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation to determine the creditworthiness of borrowers
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with borrowers, with updates on progress and any hurdles.
  • Respond to and update clients within expected SLAs
  • Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of various mortgage loan programs. Attend educational sessions to better understand product offerings. Stay up to date on industry trends and developments
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable lending regulations and guidelines of the mortgage industry
